Open Microsoft Word on your Mac. You’ll usually find it in the Applications folder as well as on the Launchpad. 2 Click the Help menu. Use Numbers to open Microsoft Excel documents. Use Keynote to open Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. If you don’t have Pages, Numbers, or Keynote on your Mac, you can get them from the App Store. Microsoft 365’s applications are tailored for each platform and each operating system. The applications available for Mac users and the specific features included may be different from those available for PC users. With Microsoft 365, you can be flexible.
Apple has 'Pages' and 'Numbers' which are able to work with, respectively, Word and Excel files. You can purchase and download both from the App Store in your Dock. Both have the ability to export files as Word and Excel if you need to send files to other people who don't have Macs. Each is $20.
Or, you can purchase Microsoft Office for Mac 2011, which contains both Word and Excel. You can purchase and download it from the Microsoft website. It's $120 per computer, or $150 for three computers.
